About International Humanitarian Disaster Relief
Our purpose
IHDR exists to develop stronger and more resilient local communities globally, enabling them to better prepare for and respond to, natural and man-made disasters. This is achieved by helping communities create their own Local Disaster Risk Reduction strategies, providing training and information, and supporting the central coordination of emergency aid responses and disaster recovery. The primary aim is to save lives and reduce the impact of disasters on vulnerable communities internationally.
